Personal interests

As an addition to my professional journey, I also want to give you a sneak peek to get to know the person behind all of this. And although I’m not the most exciting person in the world, it might be nice to see where my interests go after office hours.

From time to time, I just like to go out there. A simple hike on a sunny afternoon, a nice bike ride and every now and then I like to travel to the less known parts of the world.
I got fed up with those five-star holiday resorts a long time ago and decided to push some limits. One of the biggest challenges was my travel to Nepal where I hiked to mount Everest base camp including conquering some challenging mountain passes.

To answer one of the most common questions asked, “what are the less known parts of the world to you?”
Well in a nutshell, the countries that are not on the average person’s bucket list. I visited Kuwait, traveled through Ukraine (the year before the war started) and Armenia, visited all regions of Moldova including that tiny little country that doesn’t exist, Transnistria, and many more of those destinations. My latest travel brought me to India, the kingdom of Bhutan, Bangladesh, Abu Dhabi and Azerbaijan.

Photography used to be a big part of my life until 2017. I had my own studio and was working on a semi professional level including teaching various photography workshops.
Nowadays, the studio is gone but I’m still bringing my camera when traveling. The photos you see here are all made by me.
Funny fact, some of my old articles I wrote for Zoom (the #1 photography community in the Netherlands at that time) can still be found online. The articles are in Dutch but if you’re interested in reading them, they can be found here:

To compensate for all of this, I also like to relax and simply enjoy a good movie or binge-watching some TV show episodes.
I’m a cinema addict and that’s a place where I can be found regularly. It doesn’t matter if it are local movies, the latest blockbusters or full movie marathons (some can even go up to 12 hours). And during the cold winter days I like to stay cozy, inside and challenge myself on the PlayStation.

So that’s me in a nutshell. Enjoy my website and if you have any questions or if you want to connect, feel free to contact me.
